Description: The collection consists of letters written to May Lium of Menomonie and her daughter, Helda. May first came to Menomonie in 1882 with her husband Ole. Ole later died in 1899 near Dawson during the Klondike gold rush. The letters were sent by May's daughter, also named May; her son, James; and James' wife, Minnie. The letters include information on family matters and the establishment of a new family home in Grant's Pass, Oregon.
